YOUTH

We see you. we trust you. we support you. we advocate for you.

Adults make a lot of decisions that impact young people. Ageism and adultism leave young people with less than equitable decision making capacities in their own lives ~ and disempowerment will typically create/exacerbate distress.

We are youth allied! In Washington State, young people over the age of 13 are able to consent for their own treatment, which means that providers are able to hold the therapy space as a truly confidential environment.

As a caregiver/parent, it is natural for adults to want to know how to best support their young people. However, young folks’ participation in counseling, the content of their sessions, and any information they provide to their therapist during their sessions is protected by legal confidentiality. When it comes to therapy, the parent role is to be a partner in the mental health care of young people - supporting them with their stated needs/goals.
